Compositing Fundamentals - CFM - Full Sail University

I want to start off by saying for me this class was a blast. I loved it and look forward to more in the future. At the end of the class we had the chance to to just make a video of our choice just to explore the program more and figure out things ourselves. Could use a lot more work but I learned so much and had a blast doing it. Here is my final thrown together filmed/edited and composited in just 6 hours.

Star Wars: Lego Darth Vader

I just completed a fun little project to break up all of my other work. Recently Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out and I wanted to join in on the current digital trend. Browsing around I found new Star Wars Lego packs and wanted to replicate Darth Vader with a twist.

Rustic Kitchen and Ottoman

Environment

Today I have also decided on a few environments that I will be working on. I always seem to base a lot of my style on grunge, apocalyptic, mad max type of feel to my art. I want to spread that horizon a little bit further with more rustic/contemporary style piece. I have chosen this kitchen and ottoman as my next environments to also work on. Today I have started the block out.

December - Animation and Compositing - Abandoned Hangar

The End is Near!

As I close in to my final year here at Full Sail University, i've decided to start crunching down on specializing in something. I enjoy doing so much generalist stuff from concept art all the way through the pipe line to compositing that I often times find my self trying to learn it all and become good at everything instead of narrowing it down and becoming great at one thing.

We started this blog back in my Methods of Design class which was more of a traditional art style class and I'll be honest, its something I understand but i'm not great at. I really lost touch with it after that with being so busy, but I've decided to start keeping up with this blog as a way to see my progress as I go, show my friends, family and colleagues my work, as well as just a way to reach out to people.

As of now and after taking compositing last month I was able to full experience NukeX by The Foundry and absolutely loved everything about it. I enjoyed all the options and what fully goes into making CG what it is. What interests me next is VFX just because I love seeing simulated explosions, smoke, even just basic things like leaves moving or blowing and all the extras that really bring a final composite together.

What i've been really working on and focusing in though is Look Development/Environment Modeling.

Now that christmas break is here I can really work on some side projects that i've wanted to do. Here is my current and still a very much work in progress that I've started yesterday.

3D Animation - 3AM

This month (12/15) was my first animation class. I really enjoyed this class with the different aspects. Everything about this class hit me in a weird way from a different angle of creativity.

My final project for this month was to do a full walk cycle as well as well as add a form of action of our choice to an object. I chose to make the ant walk up to a vending machine and peer into the class at his choices. It was a little rough but for my first time animating I was happy with where I ended.  Here is a video of my final.
